Our Story

Kids Tutorial was jointly founded in 1985 by Dr. Amina Rahman and her husband Mr. Shafiqur Rahman. Dr Amina Rahman was an academic who, in 1951, was the first Bengali Muslim woman to receive a Ph.D. from Yale University in the USA.

 Dr. Amina Rahman served as a Bangladesh Government Cabinet Minister on Women’s Affairs and also on the board of Zonta and other social organizations. However, she is well known for dedicating her life to support education, especially children’s education, and was on the governing boards of many schools in Dhaka including Viqarunnisa Noon School. Dr. Amina Rahman passed away on 12 June, 1996 and was succeeded by her daughter Ms. Zeenat Choudhury as principal.

Mrs. Zeenat Choudhury graduated in Sociology from London University, UK and holds an LL.M. in International Law from Brussels, Belgium. She continued as principal for 22 years from 1996 to 2018. 

​The current principal is Ms. Farzana Ahmed.

 Ms. Ahmed was educated in the United Kingdom and is a graduate in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University, England. Ms. Ahmed is also a Chartered Accountant in the United Kingdom and Australia. After working as an accountant in the private sector in the UK and Australia, Ms. Ahmed joined the Asian Development Bank where she worked for over 20 years prior to joining the school as Principal in 2018. She is also currently an Independent Director on the Board of BRAC Bank.
